PRESENT TENSE
Friends, family and fans, I’m happy to announce that a full length documentary chronicling the making of my next album will be premiering at the Oxford Film Festival in Oxford, MS on March 5th, 2023.
The film, titled Present Tense, was made by 19Ninety Films and features intimate interviews, performances of new/unreleased songs, studio footage from the recording sessions at Delta-Sonic Sound Studios in Memphis, TN and much more.
For me personally, I think this is the most true representation of my writing and recording process, as well as a close look into my past and present life.
I plan to be on hand at the screening along with the filmmaker for a possible short Q&A to follow. I hope to see y’all there.

Lost Songs Volume 1: Bad Man Blues
Today I'm happy to release the first installment of a project I'm calling "Lost Songs". This first release is an album I recorded in 2006 called Bad Man Blues that never officially made it out into the world. It comes from a time in my life I don't talk about often, but I'm starting to write about more now. You can read an essay that goes along with this release at magnoliastate.substack.com and buy the digital album here, which includes 10 bonus tracks of early demos for the album as well.
This ain't a lost masterpiece by any means, but I do think it's a vital piece of a larger story that I feel is important for me to share at this time. Hope ya’ll enjoy it!
